Solid piece, definitely worth a download. Sometimes I'm not sure whether I come for the tags/comments and stay for the music, or vice versa.

AliceMako responds:

I've pondered what use those tags are and to this day having found none they are doomed to suffer my sense of humor.

Alternately i could make a habit of ranting in the author comments but then i know only too well how i feel about people whom can't do without their digital soap box :3

/download. I was waiting for it to destroy me, but I guess after listening to 'Ya Hey' I would. This isn't bad in its own right though.

/MASHDOWNLOADBUTTON. PLEASE SIR MAY I HAVE SOME MORE. I'm an old-school gamer and I didn't get Pac-Man. I did get a desire to turn it up and nod along.

SlaughterClub responds:

wicked man glad you like this little one !!!

I hear nothing about this beat that is out of place or unusual. Perhaps because I am often a voice of mechanical terror my self, or so I've been told. This was moving, with a particular momentum building around the 2:10 mark. I began smiling, but I was hoping for more of a climactic finish. Perhaps next time? :)

Phonometrologist responds:

Again thank you for your input!
To be continued I guess regarding the climax lol.
I was thinking of the bass synth as a heart beat because of my own palpitations that I have experienced. The synth is to represent a human heart, hence the name ectopic, because you're right that there isn't anything unusual in the music itself.
This type of sound and what you're accustomed to writing is something that I have yet to develop more as I find this sort of thing very therapeutic as much so as any other kind of music that one would describe as "easy on the ears."

My apologies, I heard neither eagerness nor yearning. I heard peace and relief; a burden being lifted. Regardless, I enjoyed this thoroughly.

Phonometrologist responds:

I can't accept your apology. What you heard is correct. I love to hear what other people get out of their own experience in music, art, etc. Who am I to tell another what they hear is wrong? For when one writes something and puts it out there for another to hear, I can no longer define it as a way of entitlement.
On occasion, I would be dumbfounded on something that I have written while others can explain better to me to what the piece means.
In this case, that sense of eagerness and yearning mostly applies to the brief relationship of the two chords in contrast to the rest of the passage. It was pretty much of a testimony from another listener, and not necessarily my own, although I did follow what they had to say. I asked what they thought, and they said it felt like "home" and "safe," which probably fits more of your description.
As a whole though, he did seem to envision that of a hero struggling but amidst of that struggle he dreamt of a hope. A hope not yet realized.

Truly enjoyable to listen to, and I will many times again.

Yqarus responds:
